Our 90-day journey to conquer Mt Kenya is more than just a trek; it's a transformative experience designed for individuals seeking adventure and personal growth. Immerse yourself in the beauty of three to six high-altitude hikes in the Aberdares, meticulously planned to prepare you for the ultimate summit. You also get to experience two different routes during the Mt Kenya climb.

You also get to experience two different routes during the Mt Kenya climb. We have three different tiers to choose from:

Tier 1: This tier has no prep hikes and is for avid hikers who hike regularly; proof has to show you have done two high-altitude hikes in the past month for admission.

Tier 2: Tier 2 is for intermediary hikers; it includes 3 prep hikes, one hike every month for the 3 months.

Tier 3: Tier 3 is for beginners; it includes 6 prep hikes, two hikes every month for the 3 months.

Mount Kenya Date: 12th -15th Dec

Day 1: Nairobi- Sirimon Gate- Old Moses Camp(3300m):
We depart Nairobi for Mt Kenya Sirimon Gate at 7:30 a.m., where we will have Lunch, gear inspection, briefing, and check in at the park entrance. Afterward, we begin our 9 km trek to Old Moses Camp taking 3 hours on a tarmac road. We will have evening tea, snacks, and dinner and sleep early in preparation for day 2.

Elevation gain: 1500 m

Day 2: Old Moses Camp- Shiptons Camp(4200m):
After a warm breakfast with stunning views, we will set off on a 14km trail to Shiptons Camp. The initial ascent leads us through vast moorlands, rocky outcrops, spongy bogs, and three river crossings. The trail descends to Mackinder’s Valley, covered with giant lobelias and groundsels, where we will have our packed lunch at lunch point. The trail winds to the opposite side for a steep climb to Shiptons Camp. On a clear day, be prepared to witness jaw-dropping views of Batian and Lenana peaks throughout the day.

Day 3: Shiptons Camp- Summit-Lake Ellis:
The final day presents the most challenging part of the journey. We will wake up at 2 a.m., have a simple breakfast, and start our 2.5km slow trek to the summit. We aim to summit by 6 a.m. to experience the magical African sunrise. After accomplishing our mission, we descend to Mintons Camp for breakfast and a short rest. Later, we embark on a 9 km trek to Lake Ellis, where we will spend our last night.

Elevation gain: 785 m

Day 4: Lake Ellis- Chogoria Gate - Nairobi:
We will wake up at 7:00 a.m, pack our Bags, have breakfast and hit the 9km trek to Chogoria gate. At the gate, we will have an award ceremony and speeches from entire crew. Afterwards, we will leave for Nairobi, with profound accomplishment of summiting the tallest mountain in Kenya and 2nd in Africa.

  • Online coaching and gear advice throughout the program

Gear Checklist
cancellation policy
  • The booking fee is non-refundable and non-transferable to a future program or event.
  • If the cancellation is requested on or before the program start date,10% of the cost paid up will be retained. Any excess will be refunded in full.
  • If the cancellation is requested after the start date and on or before day 60, 35% of the cost paid up will be retained. Any excess will be refunded in full.
  • If the cancellation is requested after day 60 and before day 75, 60% of the cost paid up will be retained. Any excess will be refunded in full.
  • If the cancellation is requested on or after day 75, No refunds will be issued.
  • The quest for Mt Kenya in 90 days ticket is a package deal and cannot be broken into specific events. Therefore, there are no claims for any event they miss.
  • Participation in prep hikes is highly encouraged for success on the main trip. Final costs will not be adjusted for non-participation.
  • No show forfeits the entire amount paid up.
