Mount Elgon is a majestic extinct volcano that straddles
the border of Kenya and Uganda. Mount Elgon, the
second-highest mountain in Kenya, offers ancient volcanic
landscapes, diverse ecosystems, and breathtaking panoramas
that will leave you amazed by the power and beauty of
nature. The hike is moderate to strenuous, perfect for
intermediate and experienced hikers.
The Koitoboss Peak(4222m) can be accessed from the Ugandan
or Kenyan side. The Kenyan trail starts and ends at
Chorlim Gate. The lower slopes of Mt Elgon contain a
variety of vegetation that hosts elephants, buffaloes,
forest monkeys, and antelopes. Other stunning sceneries
are Chesurur Falls, Sipi Falls, Kitum Caves, hot springs,
and mountain peaks.

Day 1: Chorlim Gate(2142m)- Mutamaiyu Camp(2811m):
After breakfast, we leave the hotel to Chorlim Gate for quick
registration and start the hike. The hike starts at the Chorim
Gate and goes through the lush forest with ancient trees that
form a canopy. Breathe in the crisp air, scented with pine
needles and damp earth, as you ascend to a wonderland of
bamboo forests and hidden waterfalls.
We shall have our lunch at the picnic site beneath the giant
trees. We will have a detour to visit Kitum Caves and Chesurur
Falls. Keep your eyes peeled for monkeys swinging through the
canopy and elephants grazing

Day 2: Mutamaiyu Camp-Road End(3434m)-Koitoboss
Peak(4222m)-Road End:
The second day is where the true challenge awaits. We start
the trek at dawn and ascend through windswept plains; the air
thins with every step, invigorating your spirit. Navigate the
rocky scrambles and traverse volcanic slopes to the Road End
Camp, a base camp at the foot of Koitaboss Peak, where we will
start the summit push. The final ascent is a thrilling climb
that tests your strength and resilience. Conquer scree slopes,
navigate ridgelines, and finally, stand atop Koitoboss Peak,
crowned with victory at 4,222 meters. Take photos, celebrate
the moment, and descend to Road End Camp, where we will spend
the last night.

Day 3: Road End-Chorlim Gate-Nairobi:
The final day, after breakfast, we will trek down to Chorlim
Gate through the ancient forests. We will have a reward
ceremony and bid our guides farewell. Thereafter, we will
board our vehicles back to Nairobi.
