A Double Summit Odyssey

Mt Kinangop-Elephant Hill traverse is considered the most strenuous hike in Kenya, specifically for seasoned hikers seeking unforgettable experiences. It is a two-peak journey that conquers the second-highest peak in Aberdares and the notoriously difficult Elephant Hill. The hike starts at Mutarakwa forest station and goes 14 km through mountain vegetation to the steep and rocky Kinangop summit. The trail continues to Elephant Hill with a treacherous steep climb to its summit. The final leg is a long and steep descent to Njabini gate.
